Mad River Community Hospital parts ways with trusted Pediatrician

ARCATA – Moms in Humboldt are say they’re outraged, after Mad River Community Hospital let go of a trusted Pediatrician.

They chose not renew the contract of Dr. Catherine Poterack. In retaliation mothers in Humboldt County started an online petition hoping the hospital will reconsider their decision.

Mad River Community Hospital told redwood news in a statement:

We are aware disappointment has been expressed that Doctor Catherine Poterack’s contract as a provider of pediatric services was not extended when it expired on August 14th. Both MRCH and Doctor Poterack worked diligently in an attempt to reach mutually agreeable terms on a contract extension but were ultimately unsuccessful.
