Remembering Josiah ‘DJ’ Lawson, 17th month vigil held at Manila Beach

Arcata, Ca., (KIEM) Saturday was not a day of tears but a day of smiles and memories.

Family, friends, students, and the community came together to celebrate the 17th month vigil for David Josiah Lawson.

Charmaine Lawson, mother of Josiah Lawson expressed that this isn’t a day to mourn but a day to celebrate the life of her precious Josiah “DJ” Lawson.

“I wanted today to be a special day what it is every single day I think of my son but I want the supporters to come out and just relax,” shared Ms. Lawson. “DJ spent a lot of his time here at Manila Beach and I wanted to be here and feel his presence.”

Josiah Lawson’s case still goes unsolved. Lawson said she knows that the case has been progressing slowly but said she’ll do all that it takes to get answers for her son’s death.
