Humboldt Bay Fire hires three new recruits

Three new faces will dedicate their time to serving our community as Humboldt Bay Firefighters. All three recruits come to the department with previous basic firefighter training that’s been verified by the state.

Right now, they are training with HBF for 8 hours a day, over the next 7 weeks. During this time, they are learning more on fire behavior, and extrication’s. Fire Chief Sean Robertson tells us hiring local is important, as retention is an issue with the department. All three recruits have local ties. Robertson says they are finally up to full staffing. A place they’ve been trying to get to for some time now.
