Humboldt CHP officer retires after 25 years of service

ARCATA, Ca. (KIEM) – Humboldt County CHP says goodbye to their sergeant after 25 years. Today local agencies granted Martin Abshire with a certificate and celebrated the many years of ups and downs in his law enforcement career.

Abshire joined the military straight out of high school before becoming a CHP officer over two decades ago. He started in Garberville then moved down the coast for a few years before returning to the area.

Today, along with family and friends, Abshire looks back on his years of service.
