Perry selected as Fortuna City Manager

FORTUNA, Ca (KIEM)- Fortuna didn’t have to look far for its next city manager.

The search process has ended and the city expects to finalize a contract Thursday with current public works director Merritt Perry. He has worked with the city since 2014 and has served as the interim city manger for the last seven months.

He replaces Mark Wheatley who resigned in April. Council members and a panel interviewed a total six  candidates for the top job.

Mayor Sue Long said Perry is a good fit and under his leadership the city will continue in a positive and organized direction.
