Holiday open house funds medical needs for animals

McKINLEYVILLE, Ca. (KIEM) – The Humboldt County Animal Shelter is ready for the paw-lidays. Today they held their 14th annual holiday open house.

It’s all in an effort to raise funds for the emergency medical fund – which goes towards helping shelter animals with major medical needs. Visitors met with the many animals up for adoption, as well as took part in an auction. The shelter has over a hundred animals currently, which is significantly more than they’ve had to accommodate in years past.
