Humboldt CHP releases New Year’s enforcement numbers

ARCATA (KIEM)- The New Year’s maximum enforcement period has ended with the Humboldt area California Highway Patrol making 7 DUI arrests. There were 10 crashes but no fatalities.

Last year, there were 9 DUI arrests with five collisions resulting in one death.

Statewide this year, 936 motorist were arrested for DUI and 40 people were killed in collisions. The enforcement period was from last Friday evening to Tuesday at midnight.
