Eureka police involved in chase of stolen car

EUREKA (KIEM)- A police chase with a stolen car came to an end Thursday night near Sequoia Park with a male driver fleeing on foot into the woods.

It all started just before midnight when a Eureka police officer spotted a stolen Toyota Corolla at the Chevron gas station on Broadway.

The officer attempted to make a traffic stop but the car failed to yield heading eastbound.

The chase ended in the backyard of a residence on the 1800 block of Madrone Avenue with the male driver taking off on foot.

He’s described as a white male adult in his 20’s, wearing a white shirt, a flat brimmed hat and blue or green pants.

Three passengers in the car were taken into custody. A female was injured and transported to the hospital.
