Two Eureka men arrested on drug charges

ARCATA- (KIEM)- Some alert citizens results in two men arrested and drugs off the street.

The Arcata Police department was notified of a suspicious grey Ford Ranger parked near the Arcata Community Center. Officers spotted that same truck at around 12:40 Thursday morning at 12th and J Street. A search revealed over 15 grams of meth.

49-year-old Michael Raymond Kohl of Eureka was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia and carrying a concealed dagger.

67 year-old Joseph Anthony Gaymon, also of Eureka, was taken into custody for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.

Arcata police encourages the community to report any suspicious activity and commend the citizens for their part in making Arcata a safer place.
