Skeletal remains located near Blue Lake

Humboldt County, Ca., (KIEM) A Blue Lake resident stumbled upon an unexpected find after coming across skeletal remains this weekend.

According to the sheriff’s office, a resident found the badly decomposed body last Friday at around 6 PM. The remains were located in a wooded area near Blue Lake Boulevard and Maple Creek Road, while the resident was sifting through previously dumped trash.

The Humboldt County Coroner’s Office will analyze the remains for DNA identification.

According to the sheriff’s office there is no evidence of foul play at this time and the case is being handled by the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division.
