Fire damages Cutten home

CUTTEN (KIEM)- Humboldt Bay Fire responded to a structure fire at around 9:45 Monday night at a residence located across from Cutten School on the 6100 block of Walnut Drive.

When crews arrived, flames were visible from the roof of the structure. Fire fighters fought the blaze from inside and the roof using water and chainsaws.

While the cause is unknown, battalion chief Tim Citro told Redwood News the fire started in the attic and there were no injuries.

The CHP and sheriff’s office provided traffic control during the fire.
