McKinleyville man, Eureka woman in jail, leads police on high-speed chase

Humboldt County, Ca., (KIEM) A man and woman are in jail after leading police on a high-speed chase.

The incident happened on Saturday a little before 12 PM.

26-year-old Trayten Jakitrick Hunt of McKinleyville and 20-year-old Alyssa Nicole Girard of Eureka were arrested after leading police on a chase from McKinleyville to Willow Creek.

At some point, Hunt was able to run away and was later caught hiding in a tree. The 20-year-old passenger was also arrested on scene.

Officials said Hunt was recently arrested in connection with an armed home invasion robbery in Arcata and had an active felony warrant for burglary.

The two were taken to the Humboldt County Jail where Hunt was booked on multiple charges and Girard on possession of drug paraphernalia.
