CHP Looks into Fatal Traffic Collision on Highway 101

GARBERVILLE (KIEM) – CHP is looking into a fatal collision, just north of Arnette Drive.

Around 1:45, 64 year old Ronald Peter was driving his Ford F-250 Southbound 101. He was turning left into the Peg House, and that’s when a 69 year old motorcycle rider also traveling south, at an unknown speed, saw the Ford.

He was unable to stop ahead of time, rear ending the vehicle. The cyclist sustained major injuries and pronounced dead at the scene.

CHP believes alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
