Rose Lovers Smell Flowers at 53rd Annual Humboldt Rose Society Show

EUREKA, CA (KIEM) – The Humboldt Rose Society’s Annual Rose Show was in town at Redwood Acres.

People came out to see the prize-winning roses, what they smell like, and find flowers they haven’t seen before. According to members, some roses don’t do well in Humboldt County, because of the weather.

The Humboldt Rose Society started putting on the show 53 years ago.  One rose lover in attendance has been coming to the shows for over 40 years. She is 101 years-old and still likes to smell the roses.

“I could go out in my rose garden at say nine o’clock in the morning. Coming in at five, and I’m perfectly happy. I released all my worries,” said Edith Davis-Goodwin 101-Year-Old Eureka Resident.
