EUREKA (KIEM)– Nueva Charter School wrapped up their last day of school on Friday and got the chance to meet some Humboldt Crabs players.

Five Crabs players spent the day with the students playing a game of T-ball and teaching them a few techniques. The Crabs are all about community involvement and this was one way to help give back. Some of the students watch the Crabs games regularly, so this was a great opportunity to be able to get to know the players one on one.

One student has been going to Nueva since she was in 1st grade and says how much fun it is to meet the players each year.

For most of the players, this is their first time to Humboldt County and they are quickly learning how much the Crabs play a role in it. Every community appearance for them is a chance to learn more about Humboldt and meet the individuals behind it.

It is clear the students are ready for Summer break to officially begin, but they all enjoyed spending time with the players and vice-versa.
