EUREKA (KIEM)– The Best of Humboldt Fair kicked off Thursday and the hit this year are the carnival treats.

Corndogs, popcorn, and the typical funnel cake are a must have at the fair. But, how about alligator and frog legs? The fair wants to give visitors a taste of everything, even outside of their comfort zone.

Thursday was the first day of the fair that will run until Sunday. The manager of Redwood Acres says that carnival food just tastes different on those nice Summer days.

Also a must are the deep fried Twinkies and Oreos. To get a taste of one of these treats, the Fair opens at 8 a.m. and will remain open until midnight.
