CHP Keeping Roads Safe This 4th of July With Maximum Enforcement Period

Humboldt County, Ca. (KIEM) — This Independence Day weekend, California Highway Patrol is working to keep roadways safe with their maximum enforcement period. The enforcement period will begin at 6:01 pm on July 3rd and go through 11:59 pm on Sunday July 7th.

According to CHP, at least 18 people were killed in collisions on California roads during the same period last year. They also made 389 arrests for driving under the influence.

If you are planning to drink this 4th of July, don’t get behind the wheel. Make sure to have a plan to get home safely.
