COLLEGE OF THE REDWOODS, CA (KIEM) – Another College of the Redwoods baseball player is moving on to a four-year school.

Pitcher and outfielder James Garcia signed with Central Methodist University on Monday. Garcia joined the Corsairs baseball program after a taking a few years off.

Along with baseball, he kept busy in the classroom and also had a job. For all the hard work, it’s certainly paid off. While Garcia is moving all the way to Fayette, Missouri, it’s going to feel like home.

“They were my neighbors when I lived in like Ellsinore, and the father and mother of that family absolutely great people. And I really cannot wait till I’m actually out there too. Just enjoy I guess my second family. For say, my family here is going to miss me, but I’m kind of not leaving a family in a sense, I’m going to another one. It’s going to be absolutely great,” said James Garcia, who just signed with Central Methodist University.

“I got big shoes to fill in recruitment with losing a player like James, but I’m definitely happy for him that he’s moving on to a good school and good program,” said Brad Morgan College of the Redwoods Head Baseball Coach.
