Arcata Axe-Throwing Company in need of Minor Use Permit

Arcata, Ca., (KIEM) An axe-throwing company is coming to Arcata, but not so fast.

The recreation business, first, needs to get a Minor Use Permit approved by the city. A requirement for any indoor commercial recreation businesses located in the Commercial Central Zoning District.

The company said there will be no exterior modifications of the building with the exception of its signage.

Arcata Staff is recommending in a meeting set for Monday, July 22 at 2:00 PM, that the Zoning Administrator approves the Minor Use Permit for the proposed business.

The Hatchet House Throwing Club, if approved, is set to be on 6th Street, operate seven days a week, and is set to open in August.
