Eureka Man Arrested for Reportedly Distributing Narcotics

HUMBOLDT COUNTY (KIEM)– A Eureka man is behind bars after reportedly distributing narcotics throughout Humboldt County.

After a multi-week investigation and reports that 43-year-old James Bauer was distributing narcotics through Humboldt County, Special Agents with the Humboldt County Drug Task Force conducted a traffic stop along the 1000 block of Eel River Drive in Fortuna, Tuesday night.

Agents searched his vehicle and located one ounce of suspected methamphetamine. Bauer’s residence was also searched and agents located 1-point-five pounds of suspected methamphetamine, three unregistered firearms, numerous substances and pills including DMT and MDMA, and digital scales and packaging materials.

Bauer has been booked for transportation and possession of controlled substances for sales, possession of drug paraphernalia and weapon violations.
