DHHS Opens First Multi-Family Visitation Center in the County

Eureka, Ca. (KIEM) – The Department of Health and Human Services child welfare services division opens the first multi-family visitation center in Humboldt County.

The center is located at the Jefferson Community Center in Eureka. According to DHHS, it provides an area for multiple, eligible families to have supervised visitations at the same time.

While families are visiting with each other, they can play on the playground or check out one of the different activity rooms they have on site. According to the program manager, they wanted to give families more opportunities to visit with each other.

The center opened last week with a ribbon cutting ceremony and nearly 100 people attended.
