Eureka Celebrates Get Out and Play Day at Sequoia Park

Eureka, Ca. (KIEM) — Kids of all ages came out to Sequoia Park on Saturday to enjoy a jam-packed day of activities for this year’s Get Out and Play Day put on by the city of Eureka. The event kicked off at noon and runs all day.

For those that attended, there was no shortage of things to do. There was face painting and tie dye shirts the kids could make. They could try out some of their dance moves at the Zumba class. If they were hungry, they could grab some tasty treats like shaved ice or popcorn. They could even take a ride down a slip and slide put together by Humboldt Bay Fire. All of today’s activities were free of charge.

According to one of the coordinators, it’s all about reminding people of all the great things there are to do in Eureka. The day of activities wraps up tonight with movies in the park at 8 pm featuring spider-man: into the spider-verse.
