Structure Fire Extinguished by Fast-Acting Employee

Eureka, Ca. (KIEM) — Humboldt Bay Fire responds to a structure fire at an office building on the 700 block of Fourth Street Wednesday. Around 2:45 pm, a passerby saw smoke coming from the corner of the building and alerted employees. One employee grabbed a fire extinguisher and was able to put the fire out.

Humboldt Bay Fire crews arrived on scene and confirmed the fire was extinguished and had not spread to the walls or other areas of the building. According to Humboldt Bay Fire, the cause of the structure fire is still under investigation.
