SCOTIA (KIEM) – A protest in front of the Humboldt Redwood Company leaves one person behind bars and two others with citations.

On Thursday afternoon, deputies responded to the Humboldt Redwood Company for reports of protesters, locking themselves to bicycles.

The group blocked the entrance gate and dumping hazardous materials in the roadway.

The group protesting HRC says, the materials that were spilled onto the roadway, was actually a mixture of honey, peanut butter, and house paint.

Isabel Osheroff says they will continue to resist the logging that is happening in the Mattole Watershed.
