Drinking for a Good Cause at the 16th Annual Hops in Humboldt

Fortuna, Ca. (KIEM) — Down in Fortuna, beer lovers came out for the 16th annual Hops in Humboldt festival at Rohner Park. The event kicked off at 1 pm and featured over 50 breweries from all over, 20 local vendors, and 10 food booths.

According to organizers, they want to bring the community together and showcase local businesses and what Humboldt County has to offer. They also wanted to make sure everyone stayed safe. There was security provided by the American Legion, wristbands for designated drivers, and free local buses so everyone can get home safely.

Not only was it an opportunity for people to try different beers, but it was also for a good cause. Hops in Humboldt is a non-profit and today’s proceeds will go towards helping other local non-profits in the community. If you didn’t get a chance to make it today, you can check out the event next year.
