Eureka City Council Still Searching for a City Manager

Eureka, Ca. (KIEM) — Eureka’s search for a city manager to fill Greg Sparks shoes continues. The Eureka City Council is holding a closed special meeting Tuesday to discuss the selection process.

Sparks announced his retirement in July and the recruitment period for the position closed at the end of august.

At Tuesday’s meeting, the council will be meeting with the recruiter and narrowing down to the top candidates. Potential candidates will be interviewed by both the council and also a panel of community members selected by the council.

The city hoped to hold a meeting where the public can ask candidates questions and the council can see how candidates respond. As of right now, the public meeting is planned for October 11th at the Wharfinger Building. More information will be released at a later date.
