Crescent City Appoints New Police Chief

A new police chief is being appointed for the Crescent City Police Department.

Richard Griffin is being selected to head the department. Of the 37 applications received for the position, only six applicants were invited for interviews with a Public Safety Panel.

Griffin is currently part of the Crescent City Police Department and previously served 14 years with the Del Norte Sheriff’s Office.

During his time with the Del Norte Sheriff’s, Griffin won Deputy of the Year in 2008 and 2010.
