HSU Offers Scholarships for Local Freshman Students

Arcata, Ca. (KIEM) — Starting next fall, Humboldt State will be offering new freshman students from local high schools an annual $1,000 scholarship.

The Humboldt First Scholarship will help more north coast students pursue a 4 year degree while staying close to home. It will be offered to all students who graduate from high school in Humboldt, Del Norte, Mendocino, and Trinity counties.

The scholarship will automatically renew every year for up to 4 years as long as the student is making satisfactory academic progress. The Humboldt First Scholarship was created with $250,000 in donations from alumni and the HSU foundation.
