Humboldt Bay Fire Assists Fire Crews Battle the Kincade Fire

SONOMA COUNTY (KIEM) – Fire crews have made significant progress in the Kincade Fire and Humboldt Bay Fire sent one of their own to assist in one of the biggest fires here in California.

Battalion Chief Kent Hulbert returned home earlier this week. Last week, he was deployed down to Sonoma where he was stationed out by Healdsburg. Hulbert spent about a week battling the flames and putting out hotspots in the area.

Hulbert joined thousands of firefighters, where he led a task force of over 110 out-of-state firefighters and their engines.

So far, the Kincade Fire scorched over 77,000 acres and is now 88% contained. Cal Fire says, they expect full containment by tomorrow.
