Humboldt Holiday Food Drives Raises Thousands of Pounds of Food

Eureka, Ca. (KIEM)– Local schools came together to make sure no one goes hungry for the holidays.

Six different high schools went head to head in the Holiday Food Drive Showdown to collect as much non-perishable food by Wednesday evening to benefit Food for People.

Senator Mike McGuire joined in as well, helping to spread the word through Humboldt..

Last year, the food drive raised 25-thousand pounds and this year Senator McGuire hopes to beat it and raise 30-thousand pounds.
