California Highway Patrol Advising Safe Driving This Holiday Season

California (KIEM)- California Highway Patrol has some tips to help keep drivers off the naughty list.

CHP is preparing for their Christmas day maximum enforcement period from 6:01 pm on Tuesday through 11:59 pm on Wednesday.

During the busy travel season, CHP wants to make sure everyone arrives at their destinations safely.

The highway patrol encourages everyone to take their time, and to have a designated driver.

During the MEP in 2018, officers arrested more than eleven hundred drivers under the influence.  At least sixteen people were killed and three-hundred and fifty were injured in a collision due to impaired driving.

CHP also recommends drivers get plenty of sleep, avoid distractions and always wear your seat belt.
