EUREKA, Ca. (KIEM)- Kids were ready to shop till they dropped with a little help from members of our local law enforcement.

Over 50 local children participated and partnered up with a cop Saturday morning and received a $100 gift card, and each child got 20% off their purchases at the Target in Eureka.

The event started at the Sequoia Conference Center for breakfast sponsored by McDonald’s.

From there, law enforcement vehicles traveled in a slow speed, with lights and sirens to Target in Eureka.

If you thought the kids were the only ones excited for the chance to get any item their hearts desired.

Law enforcement got so much joy from seeing the kids’ faces light up with excitement.

Watching the joy on the children’s faces is something that stays with you for a long time and what better way to make that happen than by taking children Christmas shopping.

The evidence is in the smiles and laughter shared. All to give kids a Christmas to remember, and the event, most certainly, did not disappoint.
