AHHA’s Shower Care-A-Van Serves over 100 People in Humboldt County

EUREKA (KIEM) – It’s a chance for the homeless community here in Humboldt to take a shower and groom and clean themselves, and it’s all thanks to the new mobile shower stations.

The Affordable Homeless House Alternatives or AHHA officially rolled out their mobile shower Care-A-Van.

At the shower station, guests have a chance to take a shower, use the bathroom, and properly groom themselves. So far, the shower station has served over 100 people.

Back in October, the mobile unit made its way to the North Coast during the public safety power shutoff. Right now, the Care-A-Van is permitted to operate every Tuesday from 8 a.m. to noon at the Humboldt County Library.
