Brookings Man Dies in Highway 101 Crash

CRESCENT CITY, Ca. (KIEM)- A solo vehicle collision leaves one dead along highway 101 south of Crescent City.

Just before 10:15am Monday, the California Highway Patrol responded to Highway 101 for a car crash. According to C.H.P, a 2003 Suzuki SUV was traveling northbound when the driver lost control and veered off the roadway.

The SUV then overturned and collided with a large redwood tree on the east side of the roadway. The driver succumbed to his injuries as a result of the collision.

 The cause of the crash is under investigation.
