Car Theft Suspect on the Loose after Police Chase in Northern Humboldt

MCKINLEYVILLE, Ca. (KIEM)- A suspect wanted for stealing a vehicle remains on the loose after a chase in Northern Humboldt.

At around 5:30 Monday morning, a Humboldt County Sheriff’s Deputy in McKinleyville attempted to make a traffic stop on the stolen vehicle near north bank road. The driver refused to yield and the deputy followed the suspect onto southbound highway 101.

It was near the 11th street overcrossing in Arcata where the suspect’s vehicle collided with a k-rail. The suspect then got out of the vehicle and fled on foot.
