Daylight Savings Means it’s Time to Check those Fire Alarms

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Ca. (KIEM) – Sunday was daylight savings, and although we all lost an hour of sleep, we gain an hour of daylight.

It’s also a good time to check your carbon monoxide detectors and smoke detectors.

Humboldt Bay Fire recommends changing the batteries in smoke alarms and CO2 detectors as well.

Smoke alarms do have a tendency to collect dust, so it’s always a good reminder to clean and vacuum them out so they continue to work properly.
