EUREKA, Ca. (KIEM)- Community members and firefighters came together today at Clarke Plaza to witness an honor flag ceremony. All of this to help remember six firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty.
The ceremony was able to have a piece of the community partake in the flag commemoration, including three members of the Humboldt Bay Fire Honor Guard.
The United States Honor Flag travels the country to honor heroes that were killed in the line of duty, fire, and military.
Last week Humboldt Bay Fire held a spaghetti dinner that raised 11-thousand dollars. To date they are at 23- thousand dollars and just need 17 thousand more to reach their goal.
