Milk Truck Overturns Dumping 6,000 Gallons onto Roadway

FORTUNA, Ca. (KIEM) – A Fortuna man sustains minor injuries after the milk truck he was driving overturned in Lake County.

Michael Weschke was driving the truck on state route 20 for Steve Will’s Trucking and Logging.

The trailer separated from the truck and fell into clear lake from the roadway.

It was loaded with approximately 6,000 gallons of milk which then spilled into the lake.

Northshore fire protection district was able to stop any other hazardous materials from polluting the lake.

Wischke suffered minor injuries and was transported by air ambulance to Santa Rosa memorial hospital.

DUI is not believed to be a factor in this case.
