Humboldt County, Ca. (KIEM)– Just because Hollywood is not producing content for the big screen, does not mean that those behind the scenes are not working hard. Our reporter Cristy Kuhr talked with the Humboldt-Del Norte Film Commissioner and has this report.

Two major productions were scheduled to film here, Cassandra Hesseltine gives us an update on the status of these productions, saying they are on pause.

The biggest benefit of these productions in our community…the economic development!!!  Reported COVID-19 business revenue loss for Humboldt County is at over $28 million. The Film Commission is looking at ways to generate revenue for the region as soon as possible. You can help! If you have a location that you think would look great on the big screen be sure to let the Film Commission know and click HERE.

Unfortunately at the moment, this summer’s movies in the park are on hold. But, you can visit the Film Commission’s website HERE to get a list of movies and where to watch that were made in the Redwood region starting in 1916.
