Despite warmer weather, river temps remain cold

EURE

EUREKA, Ca (KIEM)-With Shelter in Place orders hitting phase 2 in the County, Mother’s Day weekend and a forecast of increasing temperatures many will be choosing to recreate outside this weekend.

Most area rivers are fed by snowmelt and even with a below-normal pack, runoff is expected to continue into early summer and with this weekend’s high inland temperatures please take extra precautions where water flow can change rapidly. Even though the air might be warm, know that water temperature this weekend range from the upper 40’s to mid-50’s.
