Protest organizer speaks on standing in solidarity for George Floyd

EUREKA, Ca (KIEM) – Another protest was scheduled in Humboldt County today, amid the nationwide protests surrounding the death of George Floyd.

Around 4 p.m. on Sunday, protestors could be seen holding signs and chanting.

The second protest was set for 6 p.m. at the same location.

Stores like target closed its doors ahead of the rescheduled protest.

What started as 600 protesters at about 3 p.m. Saturday, dwindled down to roughly 100 by the evening.

Humboldt Grassroots organizer said Sunday’s rally was pushed back three hours to allow for more preparation.
