This year’s Arcata Bay Oyster Festival is going virtual

ARCATA, Calif. (KIEM) — This year’s Arcata Bay Oyster Festival is going virtual. All in hopes of continuing the 30 year old tradition despite covid-19 restrictions.

It’s all taking place June 20th. According to Arcata Main Street, the goal is to stimulate the economy and this year’s celebration will be an interactive virtual experience.

They have a handy checklist on their website on how it works. First, you can purchase one of their bundles featuring local oysters and your choice of local beer, cider, or wine. Check the schedule to see when all your favorite events are happening online. Then you pick up your supplies, all while observing social distancing of course. Finally, set up your viewing party at home and enjoy!
