Human remains discovered in Northeast Humboldt

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office has located human remains in northeast Humboldt.

The remains were recovered Thursday in the area of Highway 96 between Hoopa and Weitchpec. The identity and sex of the deceased are unknown at this time. Cause and manner of death are also unknown, pending further investigation.
