Slater and Devil Fires have grown to more than 160,000 acres

SISKIYOU COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — The Slater and Devil Fires have now surpassed 160,000 acres in size, but Mother Nature is lending a helping hand. Most of the fire got rain Thursday, and the only place that didn’t get rain was the Devil Fire.

The Slater Fire is about 152,230 acres in size with 25% containment. The devil fire is at 8,173 acres and 18% contained. On Saturday, 4 more fire crews and 15 engines will arrive in the area to assist with the fire.
