Slater & Devil fires reaches more than 162,000 acres

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM)-The Slater and Devil fires have reached 162,256 acres in size. However, Mother Nature lent a helping hand, earlier this week.

Most of the fire received rain Thursday — the only place that didn’t get rain was the Devil Fire.

The Slater Fire is 153, 850 acres in size, with 27% containment.

The Devil Fire is now 8,406 acres and remains 18% contained.

Four additional fire crews, along with 15 engines arrived on scene- to assist with the fire.
