New team of firefighters to join fight against Slater and Devil Fires

SISKIYOU COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — A new team of firefighters is coming in to help battle the Slater and Devil Fires burning in Del Norte and Siskiyou Counties.

Right now, more than 1,000 personnel are on scene including 65 engines and 6 helicopters. The Northwest Incident Management Team 7 will be taking over command of the fire first thing Saturday morning.

The Slater Fire is just shy of 154,600 acres and is now 50%contained. The Devil Fire is 8,530 acres with 20% containment.
