Zogg Fire reaches 56,000 acres, some evacuation orders lifted

SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — Firefighters continue to battle the Zogg Fire in Shasta County, but there is some good news.

Evacuation orders have been lifted for all roadways and residences along the corridor of Placer Road west from Texas Springs Road to the intersection of Cloverdale Road. This will include Cloverdale Road south of Placer Road to Clear Creek Road. A traffic control point will be set up at Placer and Cloverdale Road.

The fire is 56,000 acres in size and is 46% contained. About 160 structures have been destroyed. There are 1,500 more threatened.
