Zogg Fire has burned more than 56,000, Some road closures & evacuations lifted

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM)-As of about 10:50 Saturday morning – the Zogg Fire – active for the past five days- has burned 56,300 acres and is 57% contained.

Evacuation and road closure orders have been lifted and a re-population order is in effect for residents on Placer Road west from Cloverdale Road to the intersection of Platina Road.

The evacuation order will remain in place for all residents and roadways off of South Fork Road, to include Zogg Mine, Archer and Bender roads – including all adjoining roads.

Fire suppression, utility restoration efforts and hazard mitigation are currently active on the roadways.

The evacuation order will also remain in place for all residents and roadways on Platina Road west from Placer Road to the intersection of Platina Road and Bland Road.

For residents on Foster Road and adjoining roadways, west of Gas Point Road – evacuation and road closure orders have been lifted and a re-population order is in effect, as well.
