Slater and Devil Fires Burn More Than 163,000 Acres

DEL NORTE AND SISKIYOU COUNTIES, Ca. (KIEM) –

Firefighters continue the fight against the Slater and Devil Fires burning up in Del Norte and Siskiyou Counties.

More than 800 personnel are on the scene- including 58 engines and six helicopters.

The slater fire is now estimated to be 155,100 acres and is now 62% contained, and the Devil Fire is 8,650 acres with 27%  containment.

440 structures have been destroyed and an additional 150 more are threatened.
