Red Salmon Complex Fire Burns 134,936 Acres

TRINITY COUNTY, Ca. (KIEM)  – The Red Salmon Complex Fire has reached 134,936 acres with 34% containment.

Crews are working to move the fire down to the South Fork of the Salmon River and are removing hazardous trees and debris along Cecilville Road.

To the east, U.S.  Forest Service is using fire retardant wrap to protect historic resources near Cabin Peak.

In the south, fire fighters are improving indirect fire lines along the Lone Pine Ridge, and crews continue to work in the Colgrove Branch of Mill Creek.

Evacuation warnings remain for the Forks of Salmon, Cecilville and residences nearby.
